Cam was about 3 1/2 when he decided to become a sailor. Specifically, he began swearing, using "damn" in his daily conversations. The boys had spent the weekend with Robert, their dad. When Robert brought them home, he alerted Sarah to the problem, telling her how he had been handling it. "When Cameron says 'damn'," he told her, "we have been putting Tabasco on his tongue." Sarah assured Robert that she, too, would be proactive in dealing with this very unacceptable behavior. After all, what if Pastor Tom dropped by? We wouldn't want little C-Monkey swearing up a storm, would we?
After dad left, Sarah called little Cam in. "Cameron," sez she, "have you been using no-no words at Daddy's house?"
"Yes, Mom. Yes, I have."
"And what does Daddy do when you use the no-no words?"
"He puts that damn Tabasco on my tongue."
How do you respond to that without having milk come out your nose?

"Shoot" that was funny!
ReplyDeleteYou know what's funny... Isaiah tried saying it when he was doing Kindergarten homework. I too went for the Tabasco. He jerked away... Lemme tell you, it seems Tabasco in the eye is a more effective deterrent that Tabasco on the tongue. He never said it again. Oops.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe you CAN respond to that without milk coming out the nose...
